Director of Business Operations and Media Relations
Mason is in his third season with the Jets, and his second as the Director of Business Operations and Media Relations. In his role, Mason directs the Jets’ communications, business operatives, and internship program, in addition to working closely with sponsors, ticket sales, and game night operations. In addition, he serves as the Jets’ away broadcaster on HockeyTV.com.
In 2016, Mason helped the Jets climb to new heights in corporate partnerships and attendance. Mason was also a pivotal part of a 2014-15 front office which set a franchise record in overall ticket revenue.
Mason earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2014 before joining the Jets. He enjoys reading, cycling, and board games.
Vice President of Partner Relations & Sales
After an incredibly successful sales career at WCLO/WJVL, Mel joined the Jets in March of 2016. Mel’s wealth of talents immediately improved the Jets’ connections to corporate partners in the South Central Wisconsin community.
Mel will continue to serve the Jets in his role of corporate communications, partner relations, and sponsorship sales into the 2016-17 season, primarily by connecting businesses and individuals who support Jets hockey to the product: the players, the coaches, and the fans.
In his free time, Mel enjoys physical fitness and attending sporting events.
Director of Fan Development, Sales & Outreach
Kevin returned to the Jets in September 2016 as Director of Ticket Sales and Community Relations. In this role, Kevin manages group ticket sales, directs sales interns, collaborates on marketing and promotional initiatives, coordinates community events, and serves as team liaison to Janesville Youth Hockey.
As a Operations intern during the 2014-15 season, Kevin coordinated game night entertainment aspects, including anthem singers, flag boys and girls, volunteer bartenders, and contest participants. Kevin also served a key role as a part of the 2014-15 front office which set a franchise record in overall ticket revenue.
Kevin earned his Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks & Tourism Administration from Western Illinois University in 2014. His passions include youth hockey, youth development, and event management.
Sami Jo Zak
Account Executive Intern
Sami Jo joined the Jets in November 2016, and serves as an Account Executive, working directly with ticket sales and promotions for the Jets. Her role involves growing the Jets fan base and reaching out to families, businesses, and other groups to join in the family fun experience of a Janesville Jets game. She aspires to both maintain and expand the positive relationship the Jets have with the surrounding Janesville community.
Sami Jo will graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in May 2017 with a Bachelors of Arts in Communications (Public Relations emphasis) and a minor in Advertising.
Account Executive Intern
Kat joined the Jets January of 2017, and serves as Account Executive to increase all ticket sales throughout the last half of the 2016-2017 season. Her role with the Jets involves reaching out to families, businesses, and fans to encourage them to soak up the fun, affordable experience of attending a Jets game. Kat hopes to establish strong relationships with members of the Janesville community and get them to engage positively with the Jets organization.
Kat will graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in May of 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism (Advertising Emphasis) and a minor in Marketing.
Ricky joined the Jets in November of 2016. As an operations intern, Ricky serves the Jets in multiple areas, both in the office and at the rink. Among his responsibilities are game night coordination and social media content creation.
Ricky is graduating this semester from Beloit Memorial High School and will begin his freshman year at Minnesota State (Mankato) this fall. He will study Sports Management.
