JANESVILLE, WI— Janesville Jets head coach and general manager Gary Shuchuk has announced an addition to his coaching staff for the 2017-18 season. Matt Campbell has joined the organization as an assistant coach, effective immediately.

Corey Leivermann will now also head the Jets’ scouting efforts in addition to his role as assistant coach.

“We’re excited to be in this position,” said Jets head coach and general manager Gary Shuchuk about the hire. “Matt is a great teammate and immediately adds to our coaching staff.”

Campbell joins the Jets from the NA3HL’s Jersey Shore Wildcats, who ceased operations last month.

“I’m excited to join the Jets and be a part of such a great organization and community,” said Campbell. “There has been a lot of success in Janesville and I look forward to helping continue that tradition of success. I learned a lot in coaching in New Jersey and look forward to bringing my knowledge to the Jets, helping each player, and ultimately the entire team, reach their full potential.”

Campbell is a native of Mankato, Minnesota, and assumes partnership with Leivermann in heading up the Jets’ defensemen, defensive zone play, and penalty kill, in addition to managing day-to-day operations of the club.

In his role as Director of Scouting, Leivermann narrows focus on the scouting role he also held as assistant coach.
