Jets Head Home as Number One

Nov 10, 2014

JANESVILLE – Brandon Schultz scored two power play goals Saturday night to lead the Janesville Jets past the Keystone Ice Miners for the second consecutive evening.

The road sweep, the Jets’ third in four weeks, extended their North Division lead to two points over the Soo Eagles (11-9-1). The Jets (12-5-1) also have three games in hand over the Eagles.

The sweep was impressive enough to push the Jets up to the number one spot on the NAHL Top Ten list, compiled by Stephen Heisler of JuniorHockey.com.

Janesville’s recent success has been in large part thanks to stiff team defense and stellar goaltending. The Jets have allowed just 12 goals on their eight-game road trip, and in any of the trip’s seven wins have surrendered no more than two. The team’s season total of 40 goals against is tied for the second fewest in the league.
