Brady Shines as Jets Win NAHL Showcase Opener

BLAINE, MN – The Jets opened the 2018 NAHL Showcase with a Wednesday afternoon win over the Lone Star Brahmas.

First-round draft pick Cole Brady earned the start in net for Janesville, and dominated in his first ever NAHL action.

Early in the game it was red-hot defenseman Andrew Hicks (5:03 1st) who got the Jets going with his third goal in three games. Rookie Jordon Halverson, playing in his first NAHL game, picked up an assist.

Another rookie, forward Tommy Middleton (1:51 2nd) doubled the Jets’ lead to 2-0 when he scored his first NAHL goal.

The Brahmas cut into the lead when Michal Stinil (7:29 3rd) beat Brady, ending the Canadian’s shutout streak at 47:29.

Jets play their second Showcase game tomorrow evening against the Robertson Cup Champion Shreveport Mudbugs. Puck drops at 7:30pm CDT with Mike Hammett’s Jets call on HockeyTV.com.
