Himley Signs with Air Force!

Janesville, Wis. – The Janesville Jets, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Jordan Himley has made a commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey for the United States Air Force Academy  of the Atlantic Hockey League.

 

Himley (5’8/165), is 19 years old and calls Mundelein, Illinois home.  This season, he appeared in 26 games and has scored 11 goals and had 16 assists for 27 points for the Jets.

 

“We are very proud of Jordan because this commitment is a result of all the hard work he put in on and off of the ice. Jordan pushes himself on and off the ice become a better player every day,” said Janesville head coach Joe Dibble.  “ Having Jordan commit to the Air Force Academy, just proves that hard work pays off”.

 

The United States Air Force Academy offers full scholarships to it’s students with a guaranteed job the day you graduate,  As well as the opportunity to play Division 1 hockey. “I came to Janesville after a few seasons with the Chicago Young Americans” said Himley. “This is my second year as a Jet under Coach Dibble and Coach Dobes”. “I would like to thank these two coaches for the work they have put into me, and I would also like to thank my family for allowing me to play junior hockey to get to the next level” stated Himley.

 

Himley is the sixth player on the current 2013-14 Jets roster to have secured an NCAA Division I commitment, joining Kyle Patava (Army), Nick Petrella (Holy Cross) , Jesse Junttila (Northern Michigan), Michael Louria(UMASS Lowell) and Austin Priebe (Air Force).
