November Check-in
Our first month of travel around the NAHL
This month only holds one game at home at the Mercyhealth Arena in the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center on November 7th, 2026. With only one game at home, that means the Jets are taking flight to the Ponds of Brookfield, Northwoods Credit Union Arena, and the Nelson Center. Those games can all be streamed on NAHLTV and our official watch parties are held at Buffalo Wild Wings.
For our only home game this month, it is time for our annual Salute to Service game! Dedicated to honoring our veterans & active service members, this will be an action-packed game night that you do not want to miss.
Specialty Jersey Auction: Eight jerseys will be auctioned off live on ice, the remaining will be available via online auction. The proceeds made from this will be donated to VetsRoll and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association 45-9.
Door Giveaway: The first 200 fans get a free pizza & breadstick coupons from Marco’s Pizza! Everyone else gets a 30% off coupon.
More Promotions: Ticket discount for Veterans, Vortex prize for chuck-a-puck, Specialty Busch ight camo cans available at concessions, and it’s Game 1 in the Battle of Wisconsin for the Milk Can Trophy.
Head Coach Lennis Childs of the Janesville Jets talked to me about what this night means to him and this organization.
“We’re talking about people who have laid their life on the line for our country. We want to make sure that we do our best to honor them, and this is a great way to do it.” Coach said.
I was also able to talk to Coach Childs about the travel schedule, what he expects out of the team on the road, and how it’s lasting more than a weekend this month.
“We don’t travel like an NHL team. We bus for long hours. We rarely go the day before. Usually these guys are jumping right off the bus and playing, which is how I used to play, and and it’s fun, but it’s also a little bit you gotta waver through some things the first period”
“When you’re on the road, there’s more challenges like bus travel, meal times, getting to the rink. For us, we as a team bond on the road a lot during the season because you face a lot of adversity. So naturally you have that ability to, you know, build your team on the road, and that’s why going on the road to us is fun to be able to get to know what we are.”
Coach also spoke on his game plan for the weekends away and how even early in the season he can get the boys to mesh and learn about how the Janesville Jets travel.
“The biggest thing for us on the road is to try to get to our game quicker without having all the things that we’re used to. Maybe not the rink that we’re used to, not the locker room setup, not not who you sit next to at home. You know, so try to get those guys to the same page quicker.”
