Vincent (6-1/175) just finished his third and final season of junior hockey. The forward played parts of three seasons with the Jets, suiting up in 106 games for Janesville. In between his tenures with the Jets, Vincent also played 17 games with the Kenai River Brown Bears, and had a 30-game stint with the Merritt Centennials of the British Columbia Hockey League. The ’98 center is from Madison, Wisconsin, and played high school hockey at Waunakee while also developing with the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals program.

This commitment caps off a career year for Vincent, who asserted himself as one of the main weapons of the Jets’ offense. His 13 goals finished second on the team, and with 18 assists, his 31 points ranked third. Vincent’s influence goes past the score sheet, as he helped stabilize a leadership group in a season of change for the Jets.

“Jack was an unbelievable leader on and off the ice for the Jets this past season,” said head coach Corey Leivermann, “We want to wish him the best on his next chapter of his hockey career at St. Thomas. Coach Jeff Boeser is not only getting a good hockey player, but a great kid.”

Vincent’s contribution to the Jets’ culture of success will translate well to St. Thomas University, a program with high expectations of their own. The Tommies boast 36 consecutive winning seasons, 34 MIAC conference hampionships, two national runner-up seasons, and most impressively are the winningest program in all of Division III hockey.

Head Coach Jeff Boeser will guide the team once again next season, his 10th campaign at the helm. Although this is his 10th season as head coach, Boeser has been with the program for a combined 36 years, dating back to his playing days with the team in the 70s before taking a job as an assistant coach with the University in 1990.

Vincent will not be the first Jet to play his college hockey at St. Thomas. The center joins John Pesek (2017-18),  John Peterson (2015-16), Connor McBride (2010-12), David Russ (2010-11), and Derek Jacobson (2009-11) as Janesville Jets alumni to commit to St. Thomas University.

Jack Vincent becomes the 10th player on the 2018-19 Jets roster to earn an NCAA commitment, joining forward Parker Lindauer (Northern Michigan), defenseman Sean Driscoll (Boston University), forward Brenden Olson (Minnesota State), defenseman John Prokop (Miami), forward Nicholas Nardella (Michigan Tech), forward Justin Engelkes (Miami), forward Erik Bargholtz (Michigan State), goaltender Cole Brady (Arizona State), and goaltender Garrett Nieto (Union).
