Director of Business Operations and Communications
This fall, Mason begins his fifth season with the Jets. In his role, Mason directs the Jets’ communications, business operatives, and internship program, in addition to working closely with sponsors, ticket sales, and game night operations.
In 2017, Mason helped the Jets climb to new heights in corporate partnerships and attendance. Mason was also a pivotal part of a 2014-15 front office which set a franchise record in overall ticket revenue.
Mason earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina Greensboro in 2014 before joining the Jets. Mason lives in Janesville with his girlfriend, Erin, their cat, Rigby. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Janesville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. In his free time, he enjoys reading, cycling, and board games.
Vice President of Partner Relations & Sales
After an incredibly successful sales career at WCLO/WJVL, Mel joined the Jets in March of 2016. Mel’s wealth of talents immediately improved the Jets’ connections to corporate partners in the South Central Wisconsin community.
Mel will continue to serve the Jets in his role of corporate communications, partner relations, and sponsorship sales into the 2018-19 season, primarily by connecting businesses and individuals who support Jets hockey to the product: the players, the coaches, and the fans.
In his free time, Mel enjoys physical fitness and attending sporting events.
Director of Sales & Community Outreach
Shelton is beginning his first season with the Jets this fall, joining the team in September.
As Director of Sales & Community Outreach, Shelton oversees group tickets, ticket plans, community involvement, and game night operations. Shelton also oversees sales interns, marketing and promotional initiatives, and serves as team liaison to Janesville Youth Hockey.
In 2014, Shelton graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting.
Shelton came to Wisconsin from New York City, where he had lived since 2015. In New York, Shelton grew his acting resume while balancing different sales positions. His passion for storytelling and communication opened the opportunity to begin his career in sales and marketing.
In his free time, Shelton enjoys running, playing basketball, and watching live theater.
Account Executive Intern
Rob joined the Jets in August 2018, serving in the sales department as an Account Executive Intern. In this role, Rob works closely with Shelton in fan development, connecting with families, businesses, and social groups to create lifelong fans.
This December, Rob will graduate from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in Sports Management. Rob will also earn his minor in Business Administration. In his free time, Rob enjoys watching sports, running, and video games.
Calvin joined the Jets in August 2018 as a Multimedia Intern, bringing his skills in broadcasting, graphic design, and video editing to the Jets’ growing communications department.
This fall, Calvin is finishing his final semester at UW-Whitewater, where he majors in Journalism with a Broadcast, Print, and Web emphasis. Calvin will also attain a minor in Sports Management. In his free time, Calvin enjoys watching Chef Ramsay videos on YouTube.
Game Night Operations Intern
Taylor started with the Jets in the 2017-18 season. As a Game Night Operations Intern, Taylor manages fan relations at every Jets home game. Fans can find Taylor working at the merchandise and information table, helping groups locate their seats, and finding participants for the Jets’ various in-game contests.
Taylor is a student at Blackhawk Technical College. Taylor lives in Janesville with his wife and daughter.
