JANESVILLE, WI – The Janesville Jets will be having their 4th Annual Playoff Tailgate Party on Saturday, April 14. This playoff bash will take place at the Janesville Ice Arena from 5-7pm, and attendees will receive free food with their Jets ticket! Fans who are 21 and older can also show their ticket for two free drafts of Labatt Blue.
The rain-or-shine event is a fundraiser hosted by Curt’s Conquest for a Cure to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research. Last year’s event had over 200 people in attendance and this year the Jets are hoping for an even bigger turnout from the best fans in the league.
Playoff hockey is an exhilarating time that the Jets look forward to every year. The Jets always have a good home crowd, but playoffs are a special occasion that call for a packed house. Kip Hoffman, Jets captain, can’t wait to get on the ice because there’s nothing like playoff hockey.
“We’d love to play a game in front of a huge loud crowd because we feed off of the crowd’s energy and it pumps us up,” he said. “Seeing a packed rink always excites us, especially during playoffs.”
Hesser Toyota will be sponsoring the event as they did last year, to help give back to the Janesville community. General sales manager at Toyota, Jeff Sundlin, has a mother who was diagnosed with MS years ago.
“I have a personal interest in finding a cure for MS,” he said. “I’m humbled to be part of this event that supports a great cause for making a difference
Following the tailgate, the Jets continue their playoff schedule against their bitter rivals, the Springfield Jr. Blues, in Game 2 of the Midwest Division Semifinals. The tailgate is the perfect place to toss a few back and get ready to cheer on the Janesville Jets.
Those who don’t already have tickets can purchase them at the tailgate. Adults may purchase tickets for $9.00, while seniors, kids, veterans, and students may purchase them for $7.00.
