Vet Checkup is a bi-weekly seasonal feature on JanesvilleJets.com in which I check in with a returning Jets veteran on his summer and what he’s looking forward to next season.
ML: How’s the offseason been? Have you taken any vacations?
KH: It’s definitely been a fun offseason. I was able to go to Summerfest with my billets and spend a week in Florida.
ML: What sort of training have you focused on?
KH: I’ve focused more on getting bigger and stronger in the weight room.
ML: What skating have you done?
KH: I’ve skated a couple times a week, working on my skills and my shot.
ML: What NHL offseason move surprised you the most?
KH: It’s not necessarily a “move,” but our goalie, Jack LaFontaine, getting drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes was definitely a proud moment for us players and as an organization.
ML: Any personal goals for the upcoming year?
KH: I want to be a leader on the team.
ML: First place you want to eat when you get back to Janesville?
KH: I noticed they just built a Potbelly, that’s the first place I’ll be eating!
