JANESVILLE, WI – The North American Hockey League (NAHL) announced Friday the game schedules for all 23 member clubs for the 15th annual NAHL Showcase Tournament, to be held from September 20-23, 2017 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota. All games will be broadcast live in HD on HockeyTV.com, official broadcast provider of the NAHL.
The NAHL Showcase attracts over 9,000 people in overall attendance, including more than 350 professional, college, and junior scouts. For scouting purposes, the NAHL Showcase is the premier event of its kind and is a yearly gathering for every NCAA program and NHL team as they get their first look at some of the best and brightest hockey talent North America has to offer. The Jets will open the league Showcase schedule early Wednesday with a 10:00 a.m. game against the division rival Kenai River Brown Bears.
On Thursday afternoon at 1:15 p.m., the Jets will play the East Division’s Johnstown Tomahawks, a former division opponent. The Jets and Tomahawks most recently competed together in the NAHL’s North Division in 2014-15.
In the midst of Friday afternoon Twin Cities rush hour, the Jets will play a 4:15 p.m. match against former assistant coach Cody Campbell and the Odessa Jackalopes of the South Division.
The Jets close their Showcase schedule with a 4:00 p.m. contest on Saturday against the Central Division’s Minot Minotauros.
Since their inception in 2009, the Jets hold a 18-12-1 record in NAHL Showcase games. The Jets went 3-1 in last year’s event, falling to the eventual East Division Champion Aston Rebels before ripping off three straight wins over the Shreveport Mudbugs, Northeast Generals, and Amarillo Bulls.
