JANESVILLE, WI – The North American Hockey League (NAHL) today released the 2019-2020 schedules for its 26 member clubs.

The Janesville Jets will open their 11th season of NAHL play at home against the Chippewa Steel on Friday, September 13th. All Jets home games will begin at 7:05 PM (Central Standard Time).

The 17th annual NAHL Showcase will be held from Wednesday, September 18th through Saturday, September 21st in Blaine, Minnesota, at the Schwan Super Rink. The NAHL Showcase schedule will be released later this summer. Earlier today, the league announced the full 2019-20 events calendar, including details about the 2019-20 Robertson Cup National Championship.

Of the Jets’ 56 non-Showcase games, 24 fall on Fridays (12 home, 12 away) and 26 on Saturdays (14 home, 12 away). Janesville will also play four Thursday games (two home, two away) and two Sunday games (both away) this year.

Like last season, the Jets’ only interdivisional opponent (aside from the Showcase) will be the Minnesota Wilderness from Cloquet, Minnesota. The teams’ rivalry has grown for five seasons, dating back to a Robertson Cup Semifinals series in 2014-15 and a single season sharing a division in 2015-16.

Games against Midwest Division opponents break down this way:

Team Total # Games
Chippewa Steel 12
Fairbanks Ice Dogs 10
Kenai River Brown Bears 10
Minnesota Magicians 8
Springfield Jr. Blues 12

Janesville will again make two trips to Alaska for series against the Brown Bears and the Ice Dogs, both in the first half of the season. The first trip departs in late September and returns in mid-October, and the second departs in late November, returning in early December. The Jets will play Thanksgiving night in Fairbanks.

By total games, the longest road stretch begins right before the second Alaska trip. Starting November 15 against the Magicians, the Jets play nine straight road games, ending with a pair of games against the Kenai River Brown Bears. From there, the Jets play five straight December home games, and will enjoy three weeks between games over the holidays.

The longest uninterrupted streak of home games is six long, and begins January 31 versus Springfield, ending right after the 2020 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament. From January 31 through March 7, the Jets play 11 of 13 games at home, and only travel to Chippewa Falls.

A full promotional schedule will be released later this month. Season Tickets are on sale and start at just $5.75/game. Undated ticket vouchers redeemable at any Jets home game will be available at Lions Quick Marts locations starting later this month.
