Four Jets Selected in 2021 USHL Draft

JANESVILLE, WI — Veteran defenseman Xavier Lapointe was the first of four Jets selected in the United States Hockey League’s (USHL) Phase II Draft Thursday afternoon. The Madison Capitols selected Lapointe with the 14th pick of the third round, 44th overall. In all, four players from the Jets’ 2020-21 roster were selected.

Only two other NAHL teams had more players selected than the Jets. Five Maryland Black Bears were selected, and the Wichita Falls Warriors led the league with seven picks. The Austin Bruins and Bismarck Bobcats each tied the Jets with four.

The following five current Jets were ineligible to be selected today, as their USHL rights are already protected for next season: F Jonah Aegerter (Tri-City Storm), F Dominik Bartecko (Green Bay Gamblers), D Blake Dangos (Madison Capitols), D Grayden Daul (Youngstown Phantoms), and G Owen Millward (Tri-City Storm).
