JANESVILLE, WI — The Janesville Jets held their 2019 Player Welcome Banquet Sunday night at the Janesville Country Club, where they announced to a crowd of over 150 a dedication and renaming of the scorer’s box at the Janesville Ice Arena.

(L to R) Head Scorekeeper Lori Hammett, Play-by-Play Broadcaster Mike Hammett, and Head Off-Ice Official Harald Rek have each been with the Jets since the inception of the franchise.

The scorer’s box, located between the home and away penalty boxes, will be renamed the Hammett-Rek Scorer’s Box effective September 2019. The tribute is to honor Mike Hammett (play-by-play broadcaster), Lori Hammett (head scorekeeper), and Harald Rek (head off-ice official) for their combined 30 years of service to the Janesville Jets.

“We couldn’t be prouder of these three veterans of Janesville hockey,” said Jets president and founder Bill McCoshen. “Their preparedness, professionalism, and passion for Jets hockey helped our organization off the ground a decade ago. The Jets are grateful to have these three on staff, who we truly believe are the best in the business, and are excited to open our eleventh season of play with the Hammett-Rek Scorer’s Box.”
