School Safety Night 2026
A Community United for Safer Classrooms
Welcome to the first-ever School Safety Night, a new community initiative launched in 2024 with one mission: to protect our students and empower our schools with lifesaving tools and training.
This special event brings together public and private school administrators, law enforcement officers, fire departments, emergency responders, emergency management officials, health systems, mental health providers, and other community stakeholders from Rock County and the surrounding area.
Rock County School Safety Group, which included these Agencies:
-
- Janesville Fire Department
- Janesville Police Department
- Beloit Fire Department
- Beloit Police Department
- Rock County Sheriff’s Office
- Reunification Task Force of Rock County
- Mercyhealth
Together, we’re uniting across jurisdictions to help every classroom in Rock County become better prepared for emergencies.
Every dollar raised directly supports two critical areas:
1. Classroom Casualty Kits (Stop-the-Bleed Kits)
These compact, easy-to-use emergency kits give teachers and staff the tools they need to respond within seconds when severe bleeding occurs.
Each kit includes:
- Tourniquet
- Nitrile gloves
- Gauze
- Ace Wrap
- 8×7 pad
- Step-by-step bleeding-control instructions
These are the same tools first responders rely on—and they save lives before help arrives. Kits are distributed to all schools in Rock County, both public and private.
2. Advanced Training for Local Responders
Funds also support specialized training to Student Resource Officers, First Responders and Teachers that give them the skills necessary to respond effectively when it matters most.
Training is typically a day class provided by Mercyhealth Trauma Preparedness Center. Better training means safer schools and faster, more effective response when every second matters.
School Safety Night isn’t just an event—it’s a commitment to our children, our teachers, and our community.
You’ll learn from experts who run toward danger, see the equipment that saves lives, and discover how simple preparedness can make a life-changing difference.
The night will also feature:
- Special recognition for School Resource Officers (SROs) across local districts
- Friendly competitions and displays
- A chance to explore a variety of law enforcement vehicles before the game
- On-ice demonstrations and interactive activities
Stand with us as we work to bring lifesaving kits into classrooms across Rock County—and empower our community with the knowledge and tools to protect every student.
