Public Input Needed for Potential New Janesville Indoor Sports Complex Feasibility Study

Oct 4, 2018

[from City of Janesville]

In August the City of Janesville, in collaboration with the Janesville Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (JACVB), contracted with Convention Sports & Leisure International (CSL International) to conduct an indoor sports complex feasibility study to research the demand for and financial feasibility of a potential new indoor sports complex in Janesville.

Public input is being requested through a survey.  The survey will be live beginning Thursday, October 4 at approximately 10:30 a.m. through Wednesday, October 17 at midnight.

If you are using a computer to complete the survey, please use this link: www.ci.janesville.wi.us/indoorsportscomplexsurvey

If you are using a cell phone to complete the survey, please use this link: http://surveys.customintercept.com/CSL/2018/JanesvilleIndoorSportsComplex_Mobile/

The following websites will also have a link to the survey: Janesville Area Convention & Visitor’s Bureau, School District of Janesville, Janesville Jets, Janesville Youth Hockey, Janesville Figure Skating Club, and Forward Janesville.  Individuals wishing to complete a paper copy of the survey may do so by visiting the Recreation Division Office at City Hall, 18 N. Jackson Street Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

The survey seeks feedback on which, if any, components of a potential new indoor sports facility would best serve the Janesville community.  Types of facility components that have been discussed include: one or more sheets of ice, indoor turf, multipurpose/court, running/walking track, and an indoor playground.  Public participation in this survey is very important, and respondents are encouraged to be as candid with their responses as possible to allow for informed decisions to be made regarding the potential development and successful operation of a new facility in Janesville.  No information provided in this survey will be added to any type of sales-related database, and no personal identifying information will be attributed in the overall results.

CSL International is expected to complete the scope of services for the Indoor Sports Facility Feasibility Study by the end of November 2018 and provide a final report summarizing all relevant findings, conclusions, and recommendations.  CSL International will then conduct presentations to community stakeholders on the results of the study in late 2018.
