JANESVILLE, WI — The Jets will look to keep the holiday festivities rolling with another set of games in Janesville to close out their three-straight weekends of home series and two-weekend series against the Minnesota Magicians.

The Jets (8-12-0-1) managed a split series last week to stay even in the standings with the Magi, capped off by a strong 5-2 victory on Saturday night that saw the Jets score four straight goals to start the game and finish with an awarded goal at the end to send fans home with what’s begun to turn into a theme at home, Culver’s cards, just before Thanksgiving.

What’s become an ever more well-known theme for the Jets is their special teams, which went on a long stretch of poor games, but have now made great strides in the right direction. In their win, the Jets posted another perfect night of penalty killing (6/6) and also scored on one of their three power plays. The Jets have not allowed a power play goal in 12 straight opportunities, dating back to November 13, a 7-4 win over the Minnesota Wilderness, where they also went 6/6 on the PK, just weeks after allowing the Wilderness to score on all five of their man advantages.

Along with the strong special teams units, Janesville has slowly become one of the top teams in goal-scoring in the league, with their 3.57 GPG average ranking at sixth in the NAHL. Cy LeClerc has certainly been a big help in that department; his 28 points (15G, 13A) are not only the best among rookies but third in overall scoring in the league as well. The New Hampshire commit is currently riding a six-game goal streak, a tie for the longest streak for any player thus far in the season, and an eight-game point streak.

Another Jets rookie, William Gustavsson, is enjoying a streak of goals; he’s found the twine in five consecutive games and has been sharing the goal-scoring wealth with LeClerc.

We’re not sure if apples are a common Thanksgiving dish, but there is no question the Jets enjoy serving em’ up. Defenseman AJ Casperson has found his name under the “A” portion of the scoresheet in six straight games. The Flower Mound, TX native has 13 assists in the 2021 campaign. Grayden Daul isn’t far behind his D partner, and has 11 assists and five goals in 17 games this year. Will Troutwine doesn’t have a nickname that we know of, and “The Apple Man” doesn’t have a great ring to it, but it would be fitting; in 21 games played this season, Troutwine has a team-leading 18 assists and three goals, which rank him at third overall among defensemen in the NAHL.

This weekend features another two promotions, starting with Parker/Craig Alum Night, complimented by $1 beer at the beer stand, and Saturday being this season’s first Skate with the Jets night, where fans can lace up the skates and hit the ice with Jets players following the conclusion of the game. If you don’t already have your tickets, you can always purchase them at the door or at any Lions Quick Mart in Janesville.

If you’re still recovering from a food coma from yesterday, you can stay on the couch and watch from home on HockeyTV or follow live updates on TwitterFacebook, or Instagram.
