JANESVILLE, WI – The North American Hockey League (NAHL) today released the 2016-17 schedules for its 24 member clubs. The Janesville Jets will open their 60-game campaign with a two-game home series beginning Friday, September 16th against the Minnesota Wilderness. All home games will begin at 7:00 PM (Central Standard Time).
The defending Robertson Cup Champions, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs, will visit Janesville in a two-game series beginning Friday, November 4th.
The Jets will play the night before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, November 23rd, at home versus the Austin Bruins. Janesville will host Austin again on Friday, November 25th.
For the third consecutive season, the Jets will play a New Year’s Eve match, this year against their in-state rivals, the Coulee Region Chill, in another edition of the Blain’s Battle of Wisconsin.
Of the Jets’ 28 home games, 12 fall on Fridays and 14 on Saturdays, with one Wednesday and one Thursday. The team will play the Central Division’s Austin Bruins, Brookings Blizzard, and Minnesota Wilderness each four times. Janesville will also play the two Alaska teams, Fairbanks and the Kenai River Brown Bears, four times each. The Jets will face off against the Coulee Region Chill, the Springfield Jr. Blues, and the Minnesota Magicians, newcomers to the Midwest Division, each 12 times.
