Jets Set to Host Back-To-Back Series Versus Bruins

Nov 20, 2020

Just a week after facing them on the first road trip of the season, the Janesville Jets will again play the Austin Bruins, this time on home ice.

Janesville will play Austin, rather than Kenai River, in a schedule change. The games are set for Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. This weekend’s series will replace the later Jets and Bruins series slated for March 26-27, 2021.

The Jets were able to split with the Bruins last weekend with a 4-3 loss on Friday and 2-1 overtime win on Saturday to earn two points and remain tied for the midwest division lead.

In accordance with City of Janesville regulations, fan attendance is currently on pause at Janesville Ice Arena, but those who want to follow the action can catch the weekend’s games on HockeyTV, or through live updates via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

What To Watch

In a rematch of last weekend’s series, special teams may prove to play a key role this time around. The Jets ultimately capitalized on just one of nine power plays last weekend, while the Bruins scored on two of their seven chances. Janesville was able to get one shorthanded goal out of Jake Sacratini on Saturday, but both special teams units could make all the difference for the home team if they make the most of their opportunities.

News & Notes

In non-game action, the Jets signed their first tender of the 2021-22 season in Paul DeSaro earlier this week. DeSaro is currently playing with the Selects Academy 18U AAA squad in South Kent, Connecticut. He has seen action in all of the team’s 17 games this season so far and has tallied six goals and six assists.
