JANESVILLE, WI – February 8th is a Friday.

By then, we’ll be just 10 days away from the 2019 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, and the Jets will be just past the two-thirds point of the season.  Everyone around the NAHL will have a much clearer idea of the competition by then.

February 8th also marks the next game between the Jets and the Chippewa Steel following this weekend’s series in Janesville.

Last weekend, the Steel picked up their first ever victory over the Jets in front of their home fans, soundly defeating Janesville 6-0 on Saturday to earn a series split.

Perhaps you just “forget it and move on,” or perhaps you hang on to and use the frustration from a lopsided loss like that. More likely, the answer is somewhere in between, but one thing is for sure: tonight begins the biggest series in the new chapter of the Battle of Wisconsin. By the time these two teams see each other again, they’ll each have gone through a lot of the season’s highs and lows. Rosters may not look the same. Rookies on both teams will have certainly taken steps forward as they blossom into not just junior hockey players, but junior hockey difference-makers.

By February 8th, both of these teams will be in different places, but both of these teams will remember what happens this weekend.

On the promotion side, the Jets open their third annual Salute to Service Weekend tonight, featuring specialty camo jerseys worn both tonight and tomorrow. Fans can bid on these one-of-a-kind jerseys exclusively on the DASH Auction App. Half of the team’s auctions will end tonight at 9:00pm, and the other half will end tomorrow night at 9:00pm. Starting bids are $200, and proceeds will be donated to Vets Roll and Housing 4 Our Vets, two local veterans initiatives.

Puck drops both nights at 7:00pm CDT. Both games are broadcast live on HockeyTV.
